Family and caregiver coaching for parents, partners, and siblings of neurodivergent teens and adults built on the same principle that guides our work with clients: autonomy first.
Most "parent training" was designed for parents of young children. The strategies focus on managing behavior, prompting compliance, and guiding the day-to-day routine.
When the person you love is 17, 22, or 35, that approach stops working.
Caregiver coaching at V.O.I.C.E. ABA is built for a different question:
How do I support the adult in my life while respecting their vision for adulthood?
You may be a strong fit if you're:
A parent of a teen about to graduate, head to college, or enter the workforce
A parent of a young adult who's home, stuck, or struggling (and you're not sure how to help without overstepping)
A parent of an adult child where the same patterns have been playing out for years
A spouse, partner, or sibling stepping into a primary support role
A caregiver who wants to scaffold growth, not manage behavior
You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to want a different dynamic.
Together, we build skills for:
Understanding the why behind your loved one's behavior: beyond labels and surface explanations
Communicating across different cognitive styles: what to say, when, and how to listen for what isn't being said
Encouraging independence without overstepping: finding the line between supporting and rescuing
Navigating high-stakes conversations: talking about college, work, housing, money, relationships, mental health
Advocating effectively: IEP/504 meetings, college disability offices, employers, healthcare systems
Generalization: helping skills transfer from sessions into real life
Repairing the relationship: this is helpful when years of conflict or intervention have left strain
60-minute sessions, weekly or biweekly
Telehealth or in-person (Katy and greater Houston area)
Available in English and Spanish
Individual or family format: sometimes just you, sometimes with your loved one when it serves them
Practical and personalized: we work on the specific situations playing out in your week, not generic curriculum
Coordinated with your loved one's services when appropriate and with their consent
V.O.I.C.E. ABA is assent-based. That principle doesn't disappear when we coach caregivers.
That means:
We won't teach you to override your loved one
We won't help you push compliance
We will help you become the kind of support a grown adult actually wants in their life
If your loved one is also our client, we work in close coordination, with their consent, never around them.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

My adult child won't engage in services. Can you still help? Yes. Often this is exactly when caregiver coaching matters most.
